Welcome to my blog! I'm starting this blog to add some spice to some of your kitchens! I follow a primal lifestyle which basically means I eat a whole bunch of vegetables, good meats, some fruit, nuts and seeds and a little dairy. I avoid eating all grains and try not to eat processed food and limit the amount of sugar I throw down my throat. Basically the name of the game is to eat REAL FOOD. Sounds simple right? But sometimes people find it hard to start to eat this way. So this blog is here to help you (and me) throw together some awesome tasty food . So please stay a while and get your creative kitchen juices flowing again!!

Day 1!

So this is my first post and I'm super excited about getting this underway. I've been meaning to do this for the last year or so but out of laziness and some sweet procrastination it's taken a while. So here we are.

2012 has just begun. My eating has been terrible over the last few weeks so I'm ready to start eating clean again and get back in the kitchen. I find that as I spend less time in the kitchen the worse my nutrition becomes.

I start to cut corners by buying food out and about that I shouldn't because I'm stuck and I haven't prepared anything for the day. Its sooo easy to do but all you have to do is break the habit and make some pretty simple changes.

Eating real homemade food can be easy and super super tasty!

So here's the first recipe for the night. I'm going to be honest and say that I didn't cook this one. My flatmate Daz (who put me onto this whole primal lifestyle, bless his soul) conjured this one up.

Its was super easy and didn't take long to prepare.


Half Cabbage
6 gluten free awesome beef sausages
4 rashers streaky bacon
3 TBS Ghee

Preheat oven to 200°C
Brown the sausages whole in a frying pan. While the sausages are browning chop up the cabbage and bacon and spread evenly in a roasting tray and drop the ghee in and around the cabbage. When the sausages are nice and brown all over (5-10 mins) take them out of the pan and place on top of the cabbage. Place tray in oven and cook for aproxx 30 mins.

take out of oven and if you like you can chop up the sausages and serve over the cooked cabbage. Season with salt and pepper.

This recipe sounds like it would have no flavour but I tells ya it is delish!!
